Had a great long weekend with the family. Had some friends over to a BBQ where Paul cooked up his yummy Dove appetizers, kids had fun playing games in the pool with friends..went to church, then to grandmas for dinner and a fun game of rummy...
today was relaxing, slept in, did a couple errands and went to dinner at a friends house.Don't know why I'm so tired but school starts tomorrow and I'm pretty excited about that! I hope Fall comes quick. Don't like the heat anymore. I want it to go away.

1st Day of 5th grade
Today my boys started 5th grade. I can't believe I'm saying this. 5th grade? really? it seems like yesterday when it was their 1st day of school and jack freaked out and I had to hold the door to his classroom shut with my foot to keep him from running out and trying to get back into our car. How far they have come! Every year on Aug 31st My husband Paul takes my boys to Arizona to do their annual Dove Season Opener trip. Last year Joe decided to stay home with me but not this year...He wants to go get his birds. Both boys took and passed their hunter safety course this summer with a 10 hour class and a 100 question multiple choice test. they scored an 87% and a 89%. Paul was so proud of them. Now Paul will have to chase his own birds into the field and pick them up. no more bird dogs for him...I hope they have a great time but hope they are safe and not so hot. last year the daily temp was 123 degrees. Today I am just cleaning up house and getting stuff done...3 days without my boys...what to do???

Paul's birthday in the snow
Last Friday we had a last minute change of plans for Paul's birthday. we were supposed to go pheasant hunting all together but the weather in the high desert was so bad that the roads were closed. We decided we would take a drive to the snow and see what we could find. upon arriving to Gorman the surrounding mountains were full of snow but we kept on driving until we found the perfect spot. We had our dog with us and it was her first time in the snow. She loved it. She was bouncing all over the place and sniffing out small animals under all the bushes covered in snow. We found the best hill for us. Not too steep but just right to get a good ride on the sleds...
Unfortunately, our video camera had no tape in it so we did not get to video the fun..but we did bring the regular camera and here our some high lights....
